Another 20 minutes...
Can make a big difference! Some may consider it "cheating" (I don't), but I really wanted to go back into yesterday's painting again. I spent another 20 min. on it and am pretty pleased with the more saturated color and definition achieved. Another 20 minutes to add a background and more flower detail would probably result in what I would consider a complete painting. But I feel like I should leave it alone now so I'll trust that feeling.
Definitely not cheating--or if it is cheating, definitely worth it! Your love of fraktur really comes though here, as in your other fraktur sketches. I think the form probably lends itself to vibrancy due to all the color, but there's also something intangible about this that conveys real joy in and affinity for this style. :)
