Park Waterfront, Summertime

What a gorgeous day! I painted this while sitting at a picnic table in a beautiful state park, overlooking the lake glistening in the sun and people picnicking, milling about, enjoying the beachfront and scenery. Life is good. I think this painting does truly capture the exact essence of that moment. I liked drawing/painting in this square format! Artists and graphic designers are so often limited and stagnated by rectangles. Subtle changes in format - squares, ovals, circles, etc. can breathe fresh life into your work. Pen and watercolor, 6" x 6".
