Classic style

Another completely different doorway for a 20 min. sketch today. A recurring theme perhaps? Pen and watercolor, approx. 6" x 9". Inspired by a photo I took several years ago, this colonial doorway has some neat architectural details - the overly large pediment, dentil molding, fluted columns, paneled door, hand wrought iron handle. The doorframe really is red, perhaps more of a deep "colonial red," but as I started to paint with about 6 min. to spare, the color is not completely accurate. I am excited to see if I could pull this off on location sometime, now.
